Friendly/informative & approachable midwife.
I like the continuity of the midwives. They were friendly and approachable and I never felt rushed if I needed to speak to them about anything.
Happy with all care.
Midwives are knowledgeable and willing to discuss if you have any concerns or problems. Tend to see a different mid wife each time, due to staff shortage. Appointments don't tend to be as thorough, but this could be as it's not my first pregnancy.
I feel that the service I have received from Fleetwood midwife team has been excellent. In particular my midwife, Joan Thornton, has been fantastic both at ante-natal and post natal visits. She has a very understanding way about her which puts you at ease and she instills confidence whilst offering great advice. I am a new, first time mum and Joan has consistently spent time answering my questions and concerns and giving me helpful advice throughout. She is a credit to the NHS.
I had a previous stillbirth and was cared for by the same two midwives throughout my pregnancy and after the birth. They understood fully my situation (and my husbands) and cared for us both physically and emotionally. They were very experienced and ensured that we felt fully supported. They allowed us to lead the amount of visits and reassured us that we could contact them with any problems. I cannot fault the care given by these midwives.
The only part of the care that could be improved was with regards to other midwives and other healthcare staff. Generally these were one off meetings where the member of staff had not met us before and were not aware of our previous stillbirth. Although they would have the hand held notes (and at the hospital my notes) which detailed the previous pregnancy they would often not have read through them which would lead them to appear insensitive asking if this was our first child etc. I appreciate that this does not apply to the postnatal care I experienced (but I had not written about this on previous review).
The community midwives always make time for women in their care no matter how busy they are!
got everything I need and care off midwife, told me everythink I need to know, Nothink could be improved.
As I have had a caesarian I have found home visits to be helpful. I would struggle to get to local doctors as I can't walk very far & am unable to drive
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I felt I could trust them with any questions I had and they were willing to do anything to help with any problems.
